Anonymous asked: what's the best piece of art advice you could give to someone?

Wow, this is old. I don’t know why I never responded to this. Anyways, Anonymous person, if you even remember asking this, the best piece of art advice I could give to anyone really is to study what you love, not only what people in art classes tell you to study. I learned how to do what I do the way I do it because I studied the people whose work I admired, researched their techniques, and used every project I undertook as an exercise to improve. As most people can see by my blog, I don’t really produce much art over the course of a year, but I still improve tremendously within short periods of time. It’s because when I do draw, I’m drawing to learn, not to repeat my old mistakes.

Finished my business cards today and sent them off to print. I am excited. 500 of these will be at my house in a week.
